Radhika Jaidev is a I am the Programme Coordinator of a university core module called Critical Thinking and Communicating at SIT. I also help to drive the Communicating Across the Curriculum (CAC) effort of the university. CAC comprises writing and speaking workshops, assessment and consultation embedded within content subjects and its aim is to provide SIT students with optimal opportunities to gain writing and speaking knowledge and to apply this knowledge in their content subjects. A significant part of CAC is the Writing in the Disciplines initiative. WID facilitates the transfer of writing knowledge gained in their stand-alone writing modules and practise the skills in a variety of contexts in the undergraduate experience. By embedding writing and speaking instruction, consultation and / or assessment within their content subjects, students gain more confidence in communicating their discipline content.
