I have been a member of a marching band for the past eight years and in each band I participated, I reached the title of captain of the colorguard. I have a great discipline for time management and teamwork from these experiences as well as experience as a leader and teacher for my section as we prepared for weekly performances. I was given the opportunity to create routines and uphold a schedule to teach them while enforcing training and development of my team's overall skills. With people coming from different backgrounds, I had to gauge where preexisting skills already were and promote those while cultivating new areas in a delicate balance without shattering any person's morale.
