Cinema's and movie theatres are using general IT services (SBS, Win2K, WinXP, HP, Lenovo,...), but they have specific demands too. At d2 we were specialized in those demands (POS, payment terminals, online sales, VOIP, digital cinema, ...). After 4 years he left the job for a train journey to the Far East. When Pieter returned he found a place with Splendit. They offered him several different projects. He started as on On Site Support Engineer followed by a Change Management role at Getronics Belgium. A very administrative job which gave him a view on that side of IT in a much bigger company. His last project with Splendit was at the back desk (2nd Line as they call it) of BASF IT Services in Antwerp, providing remote support to BASF end users in West and North Europe. When that project was finished Pieter left for Melbourne, Australia, where he lived for almost a year. He has spent some time travelling the huge country but he has also been working as a Desktop Engineer for DELL Australia (via Montare) for 6 months in the greater Melbourne area. The Windows 7 roll out project at RMIT was by far his most intense experience. Upon his return he found a role with Pelckmans uitgevers nv, a publishing company. He's managing the IT infrastructure (including telco) in this 100 client SME. A mixed environment with HP-servers and Apple clients connecting to a Citrix environment with data stored on Windows and OSX servers. After 7 years the time came to leave Pelckmans uitgevers and start a new challenge im a very different environment as a system engineer in the server team of UAntwerpen. Specialities: trilingual (EN-FR-NL), Windows OS, Windows desktop applications Experiences: Active Directory, SCCM, Filewave, various Microsoft server versions, basic networking skills (Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper), Encryption, MySQL, PHP5, IIS, cPanel, Citrix XenServer, Citrix XenApp, App-V, smartcard technology, VOIP (Panasonic, Cisco, Avaya, Linksys), Various Hardware brands (Apple, DELL, HP, Lenovo, Citaq), ...
