Artist Statement – Peter Price I am an artist who is driven to perfect my chosen medium. My work is a hyper-realistic style using photographs to draw my subjects. I view the process of drawing as a form of meditation and relish the challenge of drawing with a pen as there is no margin for error. My preferred medium is pen on paper at the moment. I use a shading/layering technique to develop the different shades needed to create drawings that look as close as possible to photos. My preference is to draw man-made objects, however have been commissioned to draw animals and people. My work attempts to explore the relationship people have with everyday objects that influence their lives and challenges them to question how they feel about the object. The best part of being an artist, is seeing the joy on people’s faces when they see a completed work.
