My real life experiences are quite unique through living and working in different cultures. I have been an environmental officer in Antarctica, a workplace safety representative in Tasmania, a field technician in the Northern Territory and a representative for the WMO in a United Nations Development project in Africa. Adaptability, innovation and responsibilities are required for this work and gave great context to workplace training I delivered. Prior to joining Broadcast Australia, I was briefly involved with repairing intrinsically safe control units for the coal mining industry in Queensland, where understanding Australian standards is imperative in returning safe equipment to Methane rich environments. It was always an ambition to pass on my knowledge and skills, so teaching electronics at TAFE Brisbane was a natural progression and made use of a teaching degree, obtained while teaching Hydrogen generation equipment.
