In my current role as a Front Line Manager for the Certificate Management Office from 2015 to present; my team is responsible for confirming aircrafts are safe for flight by conducting collaboratively preflight inspections to ensure the safety of aircrafts. Under my leadership, we effectively manage the office budget to include travel funds, vehicles and all office operating expenses. Managed team travel throughout the regions to inspect aircrafts, investigate accidents and equipment failures, examines aircraft, navigational aids and communications equipment. Establishing priorities by monitoring expenditures relative to forecasts for each program and the prior year’s expenditures based on Risk Base Decision Making (RBDM). We use RBDM to determine what specific location, Operator, aircraft type that requires inspection. As an organizational leader I’ve developed strategic plans and implemented tactics in order to establish a path for the future of the organization. The agency faced major challenges with an effective hiring and interview process. Last year the organization made several changes to the external hiring process. This changed the year-round recruitment effort from one continuous annual open job announcement to multiple announcement. We were tasked with creating a transparent hiring process, we worked in conjunction with the Office of Human Resources to establish a standardized AFS wide method call The National Centralized Hiring Process. This initiative supported the goal of creating a workforce for the future. Establishing a Coordinated Government-wide Initiative to Promote Diversity and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce.
