Since 2021 I have the pleasure to lead the ICLEI Europe Food Cluster and the Global CityFood Programe, progressing on resilient and urban-rural food systems with inspiring colleagues all around the world. ICLEI works with local governments committed to sustainable development and the Brussels Office represents ICLEI’s work vis-à-vis EU institutions and many other stakeholders involved in formulating EU policies and strategies. As ICLEI's Global Food Program Coordinator I work jointly with the ICLEI World Secretariat and Regional Offices around the globe and manage the CITYFOOD network of cities and regions on resilient city-region food systems. Strong expertise on sustainable food procurement. As Project Coordinator I coordinate projects where ICLEI is in the lead or partner organisation. Currently, I am coordinating four EU projects. On sustainable public procurement I have a vast experience of over 60 trainings given to public procurers. I am Italian and hold a law degree from the Universities of Rome and Innsbruck and a Master degree on Human Rights and Democracy in the Mediterranean. Before joining ICLEI I had been working in several organisations in Europe and Latin America. I am fluent in several European languages. I feel a strong sense of urgency considering climate change and biodiversity loss are happening. I believe that cities, its citizens and courageous mayors are powerful. With these actors I strive to create tangible results that matter.
