Since 1982 my practice has focused on representation of people harmed by unsafe drugs, medical devices, & toxic substances throughout the country: --Trial Counsel in first ever national product liability class action trial on recalled asthma drug (1995) --Class Counsel in national multi-district litigation involving defective hip implants (2001) --Lead Counsel in plant-wide respiratory disease case (2004) --Liaison Counsel and one of Trial Counsel in national MRI contrast agent litigation (2007-2013) Professional organizations are important to me. I served as president of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers (now OAJ), am currently active as a Fellow in the International Society of Barristers and serve on its Board of Governors, and am a Master Bencher in the John M. Manos Inns of Court. Recently, I completed my term on the Board of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Equally important to me is community involvement. I have served on both boards and committees of several non-profits. Presently, I'm active with the Cleveland Institute of Music and North Coast Community Homes, which provides safe, comfortable and affordable housing for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness. I am a member of the Advisory Board for the Little Sisters of the Poor in Cleveland. I'm also an active platelet and plasma donor at the American Red Cross. I'm proud of my Cleveland roots and the schools I attended here: St. Ann's, St. Ignatius, and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. I also sing in my church choir and play keyboard in a rock band comprised of 12 lawyers whose mission is to play charitable and other non-profit events free of charge. Most important, however, is family: my wife of 34 years, our four sons and one daughter-in-law, and our almost two year-old grandson. We try to gather as one whenever possible and are willing to travel great distances in order to do so.
