I enjoyed a successful six-month spell as Head Coach of Oldham Athletic AFC in 2019, where I achieved an overall 60% win ratio over my 17 games in charge and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the play-offs in the final week of the league campaign. I also guided the club to a memorable FA Cup victory over Premier League opponents Fulham FC. Despite being offered the Head Coach job for the 2019/2020 campaign, I decided to move on. In July 2019, I was appointed FC Halifax Town Manager during a strenuous time for the club. I led the team to confidently and consistently challenge the opposition, overseeing two play-off campaigns in my three years there. While operating with one of the lowest budgets in the league, I developed a squad that is abundant in players hungry for success and a style of play to complement that. As a manager, I have achieved a 43% win rate over 261 games, often taking on clubs with significantly higher budgets in promotion races. I am a visible leader and mentorship figure who can bring harmony and stability to a dressing room, and I strive to bring players together to fight for a common cause. I possess a wealth of experience working on a low budget and I am well-versed in using the transfer market to recruit players who are good value for money. I have a proven track record of developing struggling players looking for an opportunity — as well as players already at the club — to help them perform to their potential. In my former role as Oldham Athletic AFC’s Academy Manager, I led U18 and Youth Development Phase players, oversaw education across all age levels, and played a key role in achieving one of the highest marks in the country for all Category 3 Academies during the last two EPPP audits. I have successfully coordinated development activities with the FA, the Lancashire FA, and the England Amputee FA. I am keen to apply this varied experience and diverse skill set to a challenging new position that allows me to positively impact both team performance and a club or organisation’s success.
