Peggy Denman Email & Phone Number | My career in education began over 26 years ago working in the student service sector with at-risk, first-generation college students at Grand Valley State University in the Educational Support Program (TRIO). After six years of service with the TRIO team, I transitioned into a position at the GVSU Seidman School of Business’ Center for Entrepreneurship. There I found myself immersed in the curricular development of an Entrepreneurship minor, the establishment of a student entrepreneurial organization, outreach efforts to various secondary business education programs, and opportunities to collaborate with various area educational innovators. A spark was ignited! These experiences brought to light the need for transitional programming between secondary and post-secondary learning and directed my path to becoming an educator. I returned to college as a non-traditional learner and earned my state K-12 teaching credentials. I was then afforded the opportunity to positively impact the lives of many young learners by developing and leading the instruction of a college transitions course and an experiential business operations program at Rockford High School. Most recently, my experiences have allowed me to serve as an Assistant Professor of Business at Grand Rapids Community College. My passion for working with diverse learners and dedication to the community are traits that have guided me through a variety of experiences as a facilitator of learning. “Believe in yourself and all that you are.
