As the CEO of the Blandon Group, a leading corporate firm in Nicaragua between 70´s and 80´s, work related with agriculture and livestock export was performed. Since 1991, I was a consultant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), European Union, Norway, Finland and Austria. I was responsible for the formulation of a national industrialization policy in Nicaragua, as well as heading a capacity-building project to strengthen small and medium enterprises in this country. Over the last decade (2003-2013) I focused in strengthening competitiveness of Nicaragua´s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) to enhance and/or improve their export capacity, and have serviced businesses in the agricultural, agro-industrial, and light manufacturing sectors This career has built a strong relationships and linkages with buyers within a regional and international range, that has enabled me to partner with buyers for market success in fresh and processed produce. I assisted as a external consultant between 2007-2009 the Nicaraguan Association of Producers and Exporters (APEN), providing to this private organization with a strategy that enhanced competitiveness to their members in order to improve access to the international market. Most recently, I had been hired by Palladium -formerly Carana Corporation-as part of a Consortium with Creative Associates International since January 2016, after winning USAID project "Technical and vocational Education for Youth at Risk" Back in 2009 worked with Carana Corporation as a senior specialist in value chains as part of the USAID-sponsored “Enterprise and Employment Program” in Nicaragua.
