We Are All Them - an exhibition of sixty large-scale photographs by Paul T. Owen. The images of Mexican women, seemingly defenseless before the camera, are meant to bring particular attention to the violence against women taking place in Mexico to help bring about the eradication of femicide throughout the world. These are not portraits of individuals, but symbols who represent the thousands who have died violent deaths because of their gender (femicide). The title of this exhibition was derived from the response of a group of women when asked to be photographed, “Yes, we would like to be part of this because we are all them”. Owen changed the title from the feminine to include all because he believes this should concern everyone. “Men are perpetrating these acts therefore it is their responsibility to stop it.” Todos Somos Ellas es una exhibición de sesenta fotografías en gran formato de Paul T. Owen. Estas imágenes, que son de mujeres mexicanas, aparentemente indefensas ante la cámara, resaltan la violencia contra ellas que en México existe. Tienen el fin de erradicar estos actos feminicidas a través del mundo. Estos no son retratos individuales, más bien, símbolos que representan a miles que por su condición femenina han sufrido una muerte violenta (feminicidio). El título de esta muestra fotográfica se tomó en respuesta a un grupo de mujeres a quienes se les preguntó si querían ser fotografiadas “Claro que sí, queremos participar porque todas somos ellas” el autor decidió cambiar de ‘ellas’ a ‘ellos’, en el título, para así abarcar a todos “Son los hombres quienes cometen estos actos y son ellos quienes tienen la responsabilidad de pararlos”.
