I held the position at Wildlands Trust for four years while at Engen held the CSI position for two years and four months. In both these positions I had the privilege of working with diverse communities (i.e. Mtubatuba, Ndwedwe, Ngonyameni, KwaMashu, Osindisweni, Waterloo, Mbumbulu, Wentworth, Merebank, Johannesburg, Nelspruit, Etc). My role ranged from managing staff, budgets, policy reviewing, programmes, projects, and putting in place monitoring and evaluation tools to enhance the effectiveness of the programmes and projects. I then progressed to the position, as the Stakeholder Liaison Specialist at Engen Refinery which involved developing and managing stakeholders from all spheres of the government, business and community organisations to enhance the image and the perception of the company. I also conduct refinery tours of the facility to universities and high schools for industry exposure and collaborate with multiple stakeholders on different community initiatives. Its sheer resilience and commitment to community transformation that has enabled me to work well with the various communities thus far. Including the possession of excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be a good negotiator contributes immensely.
