Make recommendations to senior management for the selection and promotion of Masters and senior Deck Officers Effectively communicate and manage both Canadian and International seafarers under dual flag system; Receive and respond to defect reports and oversee the timely repair of affected equipment; Support General Manager and SMS Manager in implementing and monitoring the Safety Management System Coordinate & oversee dry-dockings and emergency repairs with Engineering and Deck Superintendents; Prepare vessels for Oil Major & CDI vetting inspections; Fleet training and mentoring of Masters and deck crew promoting a strong safety culture Monitor vendor performance Monitor commercial tanker operations whilst on time and voyage charter; Ensure Arctic equipment is properly cared for and maintained; Maintain OCIMF technical database for the fleet; and Undertakes visits to vessels to conduct inspections / internal audits
