Dates: March 2014 to Current Position: Accountant/ Accounts Payable Officer Overall purpose: Financial Reporting and Management Functional Summary: Assist the Finance Manager with planning, coordination and control of financial management in accordance with GAAP, MFMA and other standards Key Performance Areas: Financial reporting • Prepare reconciliations of sub-ledgers to the GL on a monthly basis for balance sheet accounts • Prepare management accounts reports on a Caseware file (pending finalization by CoJ Finance) on a monthly basis for submission to CoJ finance. • Check accuracy of capex claims; prepare claim invoices to relevant City of Johannesburg (CoJ) departments; and ensure timeous submission of claims to relevant CoJ departments • Prepare and maintain monthly general journals file. • Preparation of year-end audit file Financial Management • Monthly review of Capex and Opex suppliers’ reconciliations • Capex & opex transactions – Check edit lists and posting journals to correct capex & opex accounts • Load accurate payments on Cash Focus/Standard Bank Business Online and ensure that no invoices are paid twice (this should be within reasonable control of the finance department since all controls are not finance specific) • Monthly VAT reconciliations Asset Management • Effective asset management by ,Clearing of Fixed Asset Clearing Account, Capturing and barcoding of assets, Monthly depreciation, and movements.Employer DAI Johannesburg (www.dai.com) (A subsidiary of the Development Alternatives Inc.
