I've had various roles and responsibilities in my organization including Staff Pharmacist with rounding roles with Physical Medication and Rehabilitation and a 50/50 Clinical Pharmacist in Antimicrobial Stewardship. A large portion of my responsibilities are to evaluate reported medication events from a reactive and proactive perspective with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient safety. In order to achieve this, I coordinate initiatives for the pharmacy department bridging together operations and clinical components to result in process improvement as well as partner with our Quality and Patient Safety department when working outside of the pharmacy department. I have experience in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings to identify and ensure forward movement with action items. Additionally, I am a member of a system committee that manages the smart pump library and I have experience reviewing and analyzing smart pump performance reports. Furthermore, I am a preceptor for PGY2 and PGY1 pharmacy residents and APPE students from The University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University Schools of Pharmacy. Elective opportunities that I completed to enhance my current responsibilities is a Project Management classroom course and a Quality Education Series. In 2017, I was honored to be the recipient of a UPMC Award for Commitment and Excellence in Service (ACES) award, which is a system recognition for staff members who display the core values of UPMC. This award is given to fewer than 1% of employees each year.
