  Orlaith Kilgannon is a I qualified from the National University of Ireland Galway in 2015 with a level 7 qualification in anatomy, a level 8 qualification in physiology and a Bachelor of Science. Following this I worked in the Galway clinic for one year in an administrative role assisting in clearing a waiting list of 400 referrals for the department. Through this experience I gained a great appreciation for the role of effective administration in healthcare and a public facing role. In 2018 I qualified from the University of Birmingham with a masters in physiotherapy (pre-registration). I began my physiotherapy career in the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation trust as a band 5 rotational physiotherapist. In 2019 I made the move back to the coast to Newcastle Upon Tyne. I specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy working at both band 5 and band 6 roles. In 2021 I followed through on my interests in pelvic health physiotherapy. I have developed on this interest through POGP courses and roles both privately and in the NHS as a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist. I am fortunate to work in a rewarding role of empowering women to manage their symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction particularly at changing times in their lives such as ante-natally, post-natally or through menopause. I am excited by the ongoing developments and expansion of pelvic health physiotherapy as women across the globe increase their awareness of managing life debilitating symptoms such as incontinence, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse. I am passionate about my own health and fitness and hope to inspire my clients daily with their own overall health and wellbeing. Following on from my APPI matwork Pilates Instructors courses at level 1 and level 2 I established Pilates classes in collaboration with Roseanna Grace Physiotherapy with a focus on ante-natal, post-natal and pelvic health Pilates. After a period of travel, I have returned to Galway and established Pelvic Health West, a specialist pelvic health physiotherapy and Pilates clinic increasing access to pelvic health physiotherapy to the women of the west of Ireland.
