Orhan Baba is a Associate Professor, Ph D, Music Sciences, Ethnomusicology. Graduated from Dokuz Eylul University Music Sciences Dept. Izmir, Turkey in December 2009. Studied at Harran University Music Education Dept (3 years) and The Military Music School of Turkish Armed Forces (Ankara) as lecturer. Conducted a Military Brass Band (5 years). Play the Trombone, some piano, some Turkish traditional instruments. Composed and arranged pop songs, marches, chamber music pieces, trombone parts, educational songs for kids... Using music programs like Cubase, Finale, Cakewalk, Encore (nowadays learning Logic Pro :) ). Conduct symphonic orchestra, chamber music groups, marching bands, ensembles, chorals... Teacher in The Military Music School and hold some courses here Music Theories, Music History, World Musics, Popular Music, Music Sociology, Trombone, Musical Analysis, Composition and Instrumentatiton. Taking a strong interested in Music Therapy and interdisciplinary music researches. Studied Ethnomusicology and Musicology concepts, Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin, sociology, musical psychology, anthropology, semiology, comparative musicology, popular culture, cultural musicology, world music, folk music, popular music. English, Turkish and German (middle level). Specialties: International Trombone and Tuba Meeting, Jzämbek, Hungary,1996.
