Omar Durrani is a Dr. Durrani is a Consultant Ophthalmic & Oculoplastic Surgeon with expertise in eyelid abnormalities, diseases of the orbit, and modern management of watery eyes. He is considered to be one of the leading experts in surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation of the eyelids and face. He is part of the team that was responsible for the successful opening of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in April 2015. Previous to joining CCAD, he worked at the Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre, Birmingham, UK where he served as director of the supra-regional oculoplastic service, director of governance, risk and clinical audit and director of the fellowship program. He was also the founding director of the community ophthalmology program and made substantial contributions to the design of the under-construction Midlands Metropolitan Hospital in Birmingham. Dr Durrani is also deeply involved in research and education. He has supervised the training of over 35 fellows and residents as well as PhD and MD candidates. He has published over 75 scientific papers and book chapters and is regularly invited to speak at international conferences.
