In my current role at Health Commons Solutions Lab, I bring my front-line experiences to advocate for health equity in the health policy space. I develop toolkits and material to support health system leaders in Ontario improve health outcomes for marginalized communities. I also develop and deliver trainings to Community Health Ambassadors across Ontario on cultural responsiveness, mental health, trauma informed care, conflict resolutions skills, the social determinants of health and more. 📌 I am currently a PhD candidate in Policy Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University. I also hold a Masters of Science in Global Health from McMaster University and I specialized in Implementing Innovations on a Global Scale at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. 📌 I have worked in various international settings including refugee camps in Jordan and Greece. Locally, I have worked closely with immigrant and refugee communities in my roles at food banks, shelters, helplines and settlement agencies here in Ontario. 📌 I enjoy combining my love of research and community together and I am dedicated to dismantling systemic racism and barriers that prevent culturally responsive advances to clinical and social services.
