At IRDA, he currently oversees the Finance, Corporate Planning, Business Development, Project Monitoring, Public Private Partnerships and Business Process Improvement functions of IRDA. An Accountant by profession, Hisham has more than two decades of professional experience from various executive positions he has held with multinationals and government linked companies in areas of strategic planning, promotions, business development, corporate planning, corporate governance, risk management and corporate affairs obtaining valuable experiences locally and abroad. He graduated from the University of Kent at Canterbury in United Kingdom with a Bachelors of Accounting and Management Science Degree (Second Upper Class) in 1991. Hisham is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Malaysia). He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (IIA) and a Certified Risk Management Assurer (CRMA). He was a member of the Regional Committee Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants for the state of Johor from 2013 to 2017. Hisham is also currently pursuing his Masters in Business Administration with Veritas University College (part of the BAC Education Group) and is expected to graduate in October 2023.
