This community has allowed her to shape a business that not only provides some of the most unique one-of-a-kind wearables; but also serves customers all over the world with four employees and a network of 29 work-from-home sewists. Nisha’s community, board, coaching, and consulting experiences shaped through AmeriCorps, Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse, Neighborhood Allies, Grounded Strategies, Strong Women Strong Girls, The Advance Leadership Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, and leading ORIGINS, a program of The Creative Business Accelerator at Bridgeway Capital reflect her lifelong passion for and involvement in sustainable, circular, and intentional community-building. Her work has been recognized by and received awards that include The Josh Gibson Foundation, Girls Scout's Women of Distinction Award 2021, Facebook's Small Business Council, Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 under 40, Pittsburgh Technology Council’s 2017 Creator of the Year, Style Week Pittsburgh’s 2016 Designer of the Year, and Homewood Community Council Engagement Award in 2016, and has also been featured in various publications, international markets, and expansive projects with Google Creative Lab NYC, The W Hotel and Macy’s. Nisha’s work is currently and most recently exhibited at the Children's Museum, Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh, Frick Museum, and Concept Art Gallery and was selected by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee for Craft Optimism. Nisha currently serves as a Program Consultant and Business Coach for ORIGINS and is on the Advisory board of the Andy Warhol Museum.
