When I started my education at the University of Oklahoma I saw the potential I could reach. I quickly began reporting/anchoring for our student lead newscast, OU Nightly. After graduating, I joined my first market in East Texas at KYTX working as a MMJ Reporter. Through this opportunity I’ve learned how much community means. Making connections, digging for stories and finding a character that can help explain important topics. I’ve learned to face adversity, meet deadlines and sharpen my camera and editing skills. In this career, knowing how to manage your time is a pivotal skill in making sure you’re able to help your team create the best newscast for that day. It truly is a team effort, so having a dependable, trustworthy relationship with my colleagues and my sources has helped me grow and reach my full potential. I’ve been able to tell various stories throughout my career that have brought laughs, tears and information to the public. I’m looking forward in continuing to grow my skills and telling more stories that can help make a difference.
