I have lived in the UK for a couple of years and have had the pleasure of traveling throughout Europe to see some familiar faces in new places. Wales is the first country I've visited and is one of my favorite places to go to. How can you not fall in love with a place that is so mystical that they have a dragon on their flag. Growing up I always had a fascination for tornadoes and other natural hazards. I grew up around tornadoes and later joined SKYWARN as a way to hopefully, one day see one instead of being cooped up in a shelter during a storm. Ironically, it would take 7 years after joining and having just moved back home from abroad that I would finally get to see my first one. Originally, I planned to pursue a career in Meteorology, but eventually those plans changed when I realized that I was already doing what I loved and that was storm spotting. So, I ended up finding out about how Geography is such an interesting science in the way it looks at the human, physical, and spatial aspect to everything. Which is important to do as someone involved in Emergency Management. I've since been pursuing a career in Emergency Management and I am now trying to figure out what aspects I would like to focus on as I continue with the state or if I would like to explore the idea of becoming an Emergency Manager or teaching others about this career field in the future. Who knows where the world will take us, so long as the journey is made worth while.
