In these roles, I worked to end mass incarceration by realigning financial and perverse incentives in the system, conducting extensive research into criminal justice budget and grant structures, authoring policy proposals to reform funding and criminal justice practices to reduce incarceration while reducing crime, analyzing crime and incarceration data, engaging in federal and state advocacy, and hired and supervised legal fellows and research associates. I hold a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where I enjoyed working as a legal intern for advocacy organizations, as a research assistant for , volunteered as a legal educator for court-involved youths, represented criminal defendants at Lincoln Square Legal Services, and received the Archibald R. Murray Award for devotion to public service. I also hold a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in History and a second major in Legal Studies.
