I am a very well-rounded individual with lots of volunteer work and experience working with diverse populations. I was the youngest woman in Maine’s history to receive the Maine’s Most Outstanding Woman Award for my inspirational involvement and leadership within the community. I have used this recognition to continue volunteering my time within the community, such as by mentoring high school students in their career choices, giving speeches about the dangers of impaired driving to high schools, and volunteering as a medical provider for large-scale events. It was my first patient as an emergency medical technician that began my passion for helping others. Seeing people in their worst moments can be tricky. When you can transform one of a patient’s worst days into one of their best, you know that you were meant to be a nurse. Whether it’s as simple as improving a mood or saving a life.
