Nick Mueller is a Nick Mueller is equal parts tech-geek and user-centred design creative, a duality that he has exercised over 2+ decades of design and management experience. He started his career in Australia, working with interactive agencies on cross-platform projects, TV, social gaming, branding and the fledgeling WAP mobile industry. In 2007, he moved to Amsterdam, co-founding the design & technology specialists MOBGEN who deliver digital platforms for companies such as Shell, ABNAMRO & Aegon. As chief creative officer he manages the service design, product design and creative concept/strategy teams. He also initiated and manages the MOBGEN:Lab, tasked with investigating disruptive innovations (in conjunction with masters students from TU Delft). In 2016, MOBGEN was acquired by Accenture Interactive, and Nick took up the extended role of managing director to lead the experience chapter of Accenture in the Netherlands. In 2014, he co-founded NOIISE, a collaboration including acclaimed US musician Adrian Belew, to explore the future of sound design and audio production tools. The first application from this project is the audio manipulation tool FLUX:FX which has received significant critical acclaim including the prestigious Red Dot "best of the best" design award. In 2020, driven by the insight of the impact that the technology suite powering artificial intelligence would have upon all our lives, Nick co-founded the DEUS initiative to champion human(ity)-centered innovation. Nick is also a co-founder of the Smartify project, a community-interest platform that uses machine-vision tech to allow users to scan and identify artworks, access rich interpretation and build personal art collections in some of the world’s best museums and galleries.
