At the age of 4 I was taking apart my brother's skateboard, parent's toaster, and anything else I could match a tool to a fastener. By the age of 5 I was working with my dad rebuilding his newly acquired Datsun 280z and from then on, I couldn't get enough. My desire to take things apart and put them back together in a way that makes them run better, faster, and stronger, has led to an exciting carrier in engineering and manufacturing. As a Manufacturing Engineer and CI Coordinator, I have been able to work with hundreds of people over the years in improving manufacturing processes that have led to employees having better work/life balance while at the same time increasing throughput numbers. I have championed and coordinated a large variety Kaizen events within both Union and Non-Union Facilities with unexpected levels of success. I have been directly involved with 4 plant relocations and 2 full facility reorganizations. These experience along with several others have taught me the critical nature of project management and operational timing. As an Engineering Manager and now Director of Engineering, I have taken my knowledge of operations and manufacturing mixed with my childhood memories of rebuilding and improving things to develop a number of high performance teams. These teams have improved on-time delivery of fabrication prints from the mid 40% range to averaging over 99% and steadily improving. They have improved operational quality through improved design and communication by over 70%. As a part of improving business communications and timing, I have migrated teams from 2d drafting with files stored on local desktops to full 3d design platforms with vault integrated servers. In addition to working with my own teams I have supported sales quoting systems and customer communications in a drive to be industry leading suppliers. And after 10+ years of experience, I have learned the best part of any job is helping those around you love what they do, just as much as you do.
