I'm a contractor with the Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office (LPO), supporting outreach and business development for LPO transportation initiatives, including the Advanced Vehicle Technologies Manufacturing (ATVM) and Title 17 Innovative Clean Energy Programs. Prior to DOE, I was a lead managing consultant at the Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) in Atlanta. At CTE, I developed innovative demonstration projects integrating automation and driver assist technologies into fleet vehicles, and also supported CTE's fleet electrification programs, federal policy advocacy, and other strategic technology development initiatives. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ WHY AM I DIFFERENT? I graduated college with a plan to pursue a career in counterterrorism, but needed to change course quickly when the US Army cut its officer recruiting pipeline. I was fortunate to find an opportunity in management consulting, but started with few of the skills and little necessary industry knowledge. My professional growth at Accenture was a testament to my ability to rapidly learn and adapt, and execute under any circumstance. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ THAT’S ONLY THE BEGINNING I never fully disconnected from the events and trends shaping our world, and after more than four years in consulting, decided to return to school. I recognized the increasingly important role cities play in driving societal change, and saw many of the technologies I worked with at Accenture as critical facilitators of that change. In pursuing my transportation planning master's at Georgia Tech, I studied connected and automated vehicles, and the physical, digital, and regulatory infrastructure required to support them. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ SOME HIGHLIGHTS I helped the Connecticut Department of Transportation write and win a federal grant to deploy North America's first automated transit buses, a project I managed for 2.5 years.
