While here I have developed many of the clinical skills taught during school. I have had the opportunity to implement an indigent medication program, teach diabetes classes at the local diabetes center and present several CE programs for staff: “New Respiratory Medications and Their Place in Therapy” • Introduced recently released inhalers • Reviewed relevant studies to show efficacy compared to current therapies • Reviewed formulary auto substitutions that were to be presented at pharmacy and therapeutics committee “Medication Effect on Patient Response to Physical Therapy” • Provided an overview of the most common side effects of medications that could inhibit the patient’s ability to perform physical therapy effectively I have also become board certified in nutrition through ASPEN. With this certification I have worked with dietetics to form a nutrition support team. We have worked together to create a comprehensive team to best manage our patients health and nutritional goals.
