These include the revival of Florida Road, The Professional Quarter in Durban CBD; Church Square and Salt Orchard in Cape Town to name a few. Shahid’s work in Durban in particular has been recognised by the City when Urban Lime was nominated for a United Nations award in 2017 for making a positive impact in attracting investment into the city which aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. His work includes building key stakeholder relationships with city governments and leaders, companies and financial institutions - which has been one of the major factors in the success that Urban Lime has thus far and is still enjoying. Shahid will also be taking on the role of Joint CEO for The City Opportunity Fund South Africa - which is being launched in mid-2022 - to rise to the challenges facing the real estate market and capitalise on the opportunities that the COVID and post-COVID environment presents. He is tasked with identifying real estate across South Africa and in leading partnerships with a select group of experienced companies. As Managing Director for Fourth Space projects Shahid oversees the redevelopment of properties and precincts within the City Opportunity Fund South Africa. Shahid has also formerly served on the SAPOA committee in Durban between 2016 and 2019 and on numerous boards including the Urban Improvement Precinct of Florida Road.
