I found this passion as an undergraduate student and have continued to develop my knowledge of environmental stewardship through accreditation, further education, and employment in offices that share my values. I place great significance in the impact quality design has on our lives, from our physical and mental health to the way built environments shape our routines, inspirations, and aspirations. I believe it is imperative that designers working in the 21st century focus on design equity, bringing their skills and the value of good design to the common person. 2024 has been a year of recognition; I was awarded the AIA Medal of Excellence for academic performance in UW's Master of Architecture Program, I was named to the Metropolis Future 100, and a few months ago one of my furniture pieces under my business, bran.d, was selected as a finalist in the Gray Awards. From academics to professional work and beyond, I am a driven individual who can excel under the most difficult workloads and timelines. Before returning to school, I founded my own furniture design and production company bran.d, short for Branting Design. I strive to provide quality furniture designed for longevity and built sustainably and locally. During this period I also worked for MBB Architecture. This company exposed me to projects in healthcare, government work, and the private sector. I developed robust experience in schematic design and development feasibility studies, design development, and construction administration. I frequently use the Adobe Suite in my workflows for polished renderings, visuals, and graphic design. I am well versed with Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, AutoCAD, and the workflows in between. Photography is a passion that matured during my undergraduate studies; my photographic work focuses on the artistic exploits and details of architecture, but I am also acquainted with formal architectural photography. Through construction and furniture design, I am also competent with many types of production machinery/technology including CNC routers, 3D printers, laser cutters, plasma cutters, and a myriad of hand and power tools.
