As a result of exposure to the West, I decided to return home to The Gambia in order to promote knowledge and skills I obtained as the result of the education, to achieve a positive change in the promotion of Western processes and procedures in the business, the development of economic research and entrepreneurship in order to mitigate current The Gambian mentality on over-relying on government-based programs and support. As Senior Strategic Planner and Business developer at The Gambia National Petroleum Corporation, I have contributed to the planning and development of The Gambia’s first state-owned petrol station and my further professional goals are to provide further assistance in strategic planning and research development of the state-run company to explore and extract country’s available oil and any other available resources which have potential to elevate my country from poverty. As of October 2022, I am an Associate teacher at Success Academy Charter Schools.
