I have lived in the UK for 10 years as a child and I am bilingual in both English and Arabic. I graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages with English as my first language and I have finished the DELTA (Diploma for English language teaching for adults) from Cambridge University along with the CELTA. Moreover, I am a certified IELTS Examiner. Currently I am working as a high-school English Teacher at Dubai National school in Al-Barsha. Before that, I was an English instructor at the American University in Cairo where the students were very challenging. Moreover, I have worked as a language instructor (English and Arabic) at the British Embassy. I also worked at the Berlitz language school for four years prior, initially as an instructor but later as a mentor where I taught a diverse range of native English and Arabic speaking students using the Berlitz teaching methodology. Many of my students were non-native English speakers themselves, belonging to the expat community in Maadi and I learned through this experience the difficulties students can face when learning English. I have taught English at various levels from beginners to advanced and from school children summer courses to British Embassy staff in Egypt, I am proud that my customer satisfaction results, and student re-enrollment rates were close to 100%. During this process I learned the importance of a student centered classroom which I demonstrated at the course and incorporate in my teaching today. I am a hard worker, and I strive to engage each of my students in class and keep it as interesting and as beneficial as possible for them so that they look forward to coming to class each time.
