Mr. Marouani was promoted to FFM for both Libya and Tunisia on April 1, Soon thereafter, the Libya office manager and finance assistant also departed the Libya office, leaving Mr. Marouani to manage all of the finances for both Libya and Tunisia alone until ABA ROLI hired new finance assistants in Tripoli and Tunis in late August. This came at the same time as ABA ROLI brought in a new Country Director for Tunisia and Libya who was new to ABA ROLI and brought in a new grant accountant in the Finance office in Washington to cover Tunisia and Libya. During these times of change and uncertainties, Mr. Marouani confidently stepped up and carried out the substantial FFM duties and responsibilities in a fully capable manner. More importantly, his attention to detail, teamwork and organizational skills kept up the vital expense reporting, advance liquidation and tracking contracts, expenditures and procurement as required allowing for the ABA ROLI programs in both Libya and Tunisia to continue and expand. He carried out this work single-handedly during much of the year. Overall, Mr. Marouani has risen to the occasion as the new FFM in very challenging circumstances in both Libya and Tunisia, performing very well and keeping the ABA ROLI programs and financial accountability for those programs and people going for some of ABA ROLI’s largest programs in the world.
