I have thoroughly enjoyed my work as a digitization professional in processing photos and in analyzing corporate documents. I plan to further my career as a full-time professional in this field after spending the first half of my career as a newspaper reporter in north-central Arizona. For nearly 25 years, I was an accomplished journalist with various Arizona newspapers. I spent 19.5 years at The Daily Courier in Prescott Valley and Prescott, located less than 100 miles northwest of Phoenix. As I have grown in my career, I have developed a passion for history, research, investigation, and other elements needed to tell a complete story. That is why I returned to school, enrolling and eventually graduating in May 2021 with a master's in Library & Information Science (MLIS) in the online program at Indiana University at Indianapolis with a focus on Academic Libraries and Archival Studies. I am ready for a new career as an academic or a public librarian, or as an archivist at a university or a museum. My MLIS journey accelerated after completing a successful internship at Hazy Library on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott in the fall of 2019. Key areas of expertise that I have refined, as I have taken on roles of increased scope and accountability, included project oversight, information management, continuous process improvements, and many others that I utilize daily to find personal success, as well as to help an organization accomplish its short- and long-term goals. Along with my master's, I have earned a Secondary Teachers Certificate from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Arizona State University. Additionally, my technical skills include proficiency in Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, Photos (Mac), Quark Xpress, Facebook, Twitter, PowerPoint, Pages (Mac), Numbers (Mac), Google Chrome, Instructure Canvas, Gmail, Google Docs and Photos, Safari, and the Cloud.
