Missy Tharp Email & Phone Number | Missy started her career as a 911 dispatcher for the Andover Police Department in 1997, serving in such title and promoted to Master Communications Officer. She worked in this position for 8 ½ years serving the community of Andover, KS. Over the years of answering 911 calls and serving citizens on the phone, Missy decided there was more in her and wanted to get out in the community and continue her service on the road as a police officer. She applied for a police officer’s job in the community she raised her son, Rose Hill, KS. Missy was hired in August of 2004 as a part time patrol officer. She attended the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center and successfully passed the part-time academy in May of 2005. Missy worked full time as a 911 dispatcher with Andover and as part-time police officer in Rose Hill until January of 2006. In January 2006, the City of Rose Hill, added a new police officer position and it was offered to Missy, to which she graciously accepted. She attended a 14 week police academy at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, graduating September 8, 2006 with the 187th Basic Class. Missy has been dedicated to the city since then, finding her nitch in law enforcement. In October of 2014, Missy was promoted to Detective. During this time, she has received extensive training in several areas of the job, including interview and interrogation, interviewing children of crimes, crime scene investigations, crime scene photography, and footwear and tire track collection. Missy is currently working on rebuilding the Crime Stopper’s program for Rose Hill. In October 2016, Missy was unanimously voted in to be an at large board member for the Kansas Crime Stopper’s Association during a conference she attended.
