Currently a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analyst for the U.S. Geological Survey and a part time QA Web Tester for Fine Mountain Consulting. I have always loved the outdoors and appreciated the natural beauty that the Rocky Mountains have to offer. The appreciation I felt towards the outdoors and science lead me to study ecosystems and conserving them in college. In college, I have gained many skills like using GIS and Excel as well as a foundation of knowledge about how ecosystems work and are being disrupted. I am excited to build upon these foundations while I start my career. Working as a contractor for the U.S. Geological Survey has allowed me to start building as I utilize the information from my classes to work in ArcMap and do basic analysis. While working at H&M was far from my chosen career path, the experiences and skills I learned while working there have been beneficial. I was able to learn how to communicate effectively as well as learn how to take feedback from my team and better my performance. After being praised for being reliable and hardworking the management staff gave me opportunities to lead teams as well as train new hires. I look forward to bringing all of the elements I have learned from college and working my previous jobs to my career to continue learning.
