Designing for ease of construction taking into account site constraints, off-site fabrication, accuracy and tolerances are key interests. I am delighted our stadium and events projects continue to grow with our project work in Wembley and London Stadium. In the past year we have expanded this to other stadium operators in London Our relationship with universities and research all so continues, with Bath Cambridge and Cardiff as well as lectures on the design of stadia and moving structures, tall buildings and façade engineering when I have the chance. I worked for Atkins for over 20 years where I set up a new structures office near Oxford with David Dexter. In a short time we had secured a number of major projects and successfully produced a number of high quality award winning projects. Most notably: Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, the only retractable roof stadium in the UK Dubai Metro stations, 31 above ground station enclosures, bridges and entrance pods Newport City Footbridge, a 140m span footbridge with an ultra thin bridge deck suspended from masts over the River Usk Enneua Heerma bridge, Amsterdam, a road and rail bridge concept design As well as numerous steel supported glass structures I joined Anthony Hunt Associates in 1980 where I initially developed developing an interest in architecture and design through working first hand with Tony Hunt and great architects like Normal Foster, Richard Rogers, Nicholas Grimshaw and Chris Wilkinson. Most notable projects were; Hatfield Galleria Mall roof and end walls, Sainsbury Centre Crescent Wing. Law faculty building, Cambridge, Waterloo International station train shed roof and specialist cladding systems
