I have over 30 years of experience in the health and human performance field. My athletic career and success date back to age group swimming where I was a nationally ranked swimmer, collegiate conference champion, and ranked in the top 200 in the world in the 50 freestyle. After my undergraduate career at Furman University I took a sales position in mid-range computer products and services and gained valuable experience in marketing and sales. After receiving the opportunity to work with world class athletes at the University of Alabama while completing my Masters and Doctoral degrees, I began my career in academia. From 1990 to 2000, I worked with Olympic athletes including several national and world champions, world record holders, and Olympic champions. I have been teaching at the university level for over 30 years and currently hold the rank of Full Professor at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. I am also co-owner of several health and fitness related facilities including Bodyplex Milledgeville, Bodyplex Grayson, Central State CrossFit, and Grayson CrossFit with over 5,000 combined members, 20 personal trainers on staff, and over 60 total employees. I have presented on various topics including high performance training models, power development, movement screening, and incorporation of sports science technology into the professional sports performance arena.
