I am also experienced with staff management and managing change. I carry a wealth of knowledge and experience of managing resettlement and ex offender residential services. I am also a fully trained personal employment advisor and trained in welfare benefits to which I have gained from my time employed with the DWP and the job centres. , I progressed on recommendation onto the managerial DWP training programme. I was also successful for a secondment within DWP and Portsmouth City Council for the then "Access Points" as the mentor of welfare benefits in year 2000, and was working alongside many additional outside agencies, training the staff about benefits. In 2001, I decided to leave the civil service to work with the homeless at Mill House which is a direct access hostel as a full time support worker, and then progressed onward through the managerial training within Two Saints, until securing the position of Service Coordinator at the Portsmouth Foyer within First Wessex. At First Wessex, I coordinated a young peoples housing service within First Wessex, and promoted the Foyer to many outside agencies within the Portsmouth area with a very successful response. I have received many written references upon this contract coming to an end. I now work for Rooftop as the Team Leader for the supported housing Young Peoples Services in Gloucestershire including the IHM housing in Gloucester.
