My main academic interests are in the field of AI-based applications for image and video processing, and subjective/objective visual quality assessment. I have experience with machine learning and deep learning algorithms applied to the field of image compression and denoising, and a track record including 19 peer-reviewed publications. I actively contribute to the standardization, i.e. to the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) where I lead the Ad Hoc Group on Image Quality Assessment (JPEG AIC). During my Ph.D., I have refined my communication skills through various public speaking opportunities, demonstrating my ability to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences. Moreover, I developed strong teamwork skills by collaborating with a diverse team, as well as project management skills developed by managing multiple parallel projects.
