  Michael Young is a Twenty years working in education has given me allot of experience with the amazing things that can be done technically if the price point for software and hardware is not out of reach. Good leadership, good people and good tools can make almost anything possible. I have had the privilege to learn new technologies and techniques for implementing them and maintaining them at a pace that is always ahead of the curve because of my years in education. The things I have learned there lead me to work outside of my day to day in the Non-Profit arena. Like education Non-Profits believe in what they do, they have to make the most out of what they have and they are able to achieve amazing things with technology if they have support that believes in their mission and respects what they are trying to do. I believe that Non-Profits deserve a level of technical support that can enable them to stretch their reach into tools that make them better able to serve their mission. I think that too often for-profit technical service companies take advantage of Non-Profits that often cannot afford in house IT personal. I have found that often that leads to a Non-Profit having to make choices in the tools and services they can offer their employees that do not best support their goals. Or even worse being given advice that better suits the goals that the technical service provider has set based on their own desire to profit from the lack of in house support. Like in education valuing people is the common bench mark of most Non-Profits, and they deserve the best technical support possible at a price point that reflects the reality of the Non-Profit world. I find that this can almost always be achieved if they are connected with the right technician that see's and understands their mission and wants to help in ways that makes it easier for them to achieve it.
