However, I discovered that our previous opt-in persistence strategy caused report inaccuracies during my technical planning. I proposed a solution to our technical debt by rearchitecting our schema and usage. We moved to a decoupled audit log that tracked the end user’s opt-in choices. The project delivered the expected enhancement to our product manager, fixed the inaccuracies, and ensured our database schema was ready to scale with additional opt-in changes from the Product. My manager was thrilled and called it my best project that year. HIGHLIGHT At Velocify, I’ve participated in a framework change from ASP.NET WebForms to MVC. The problem was how to move to the new framework without duplicating our complex menu business logic code. I proposed re-designing the architectural layers to move menu business logic from the client to the business logic layer. We rebuilt with the new layer separation, enabling us to run both client frameworks simultaneously to ease into the transition using the same business logic code, thus avoiding hidden bugs.
