I just love to support the Growth phase, it's a phase where one has to think Big. Snowflake is an awesome place to work and I can recommend any bright, ambitious and open minded person to apply. I used to travel the world to learn about distant cultures, but then I found out that working in another country is an even better experience. So at first i created my own employment in countries like Sri Lanka and Kenya, then was able to use these international experiences in ServiceNow and Snowflake. Nowadays I have grown a bit more home bound and I find joy in supporting multinational teams. Apart from my day job at Snowflake I run the Edutwin Foundation. In 2005 I shipped my first batch of iMacs to improvise an IT class room in Unawatuna. Over the years I kept myself challenged by working in more locations and do increasingly large projects. This culminated into the Edutwin foundation which (still) re-purposes donated MacBooks, but has developed into a sustainable business incubator. Because I fund Edutwin entirely myself I can experiment with freedom. Edutwin’s most recent achievements include an Internet Service Provider (ISP) which I founded with my late friend Lawrence Odongo, which sells broadband internet connections in a town in rural Kenya. This ISP has an in house (accredited) IT Academy that has acquired Cisco Netacad status, opening a path to high-end training offerings. This ISP has converted to renewable power in early 2019, and by doing so became East-Africa's first solar powered internet Services and electricity provider. The facility is nowadays under management of Olivia who is a total and amazing success story of her own making. Hundreds of students are graduating in courses like Computer and Internet basics, even during Covid pandemic ! All the best, Micha
