The vision of C'I2M is to increase the innovative capabilities of industrial firms - whether start-ups or large and established firms. Research is carried out in collaboration with strong and ambitious researchers from marketing, management, and engineering focusing on Innovation, product development, technology management, product design, and management. My own research deals with a number of important innovation topics; 1) Innovation management in general; how can non-innovative firms strategize to become innovative. How are appropriate competencies developed and enacted? 2) Innovation strategy: what are the appropriate components and building blocks in an innovation strategy - how is it implemented for successful innovation? 3) Skills and capabilities for innovation - how can managers develop appropriate skills and capabilities in their employees to substantiate innovation? 4) Commercialisation: new technologies both for emerging markets (like drones and self-driving vehicles) and for established markets (like robots and automation technologies) require specific capabilities for successful commercialisation on the market - but what if the market does not exist or is challenged by emerging technologies? Specialities: Innovation strategy, innovation management, employee-driven innovation, training and motivating employees for creativity and innovation, knowledge sharing, open innovation, green and sustainable products, relationship management.
