To working for at a hospital, from the aspect of the employer group, responsible for employee insurance enrollment. To working for a specialty practice, from the aspect of the Doctor in a private practice setting, responsible for insurance verification, referrals and billing. To working as a referral coordinator in a primary care practice for a large medical group. I have worked directly in all aspects of health insurance and I've seen it all. I am an expert in insurance verification. I have extensive knowledge of medical terminology as well as medical billing practices and guidelines. I am trained in all aspects of HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations and re-train annually. My number one goal is caring for my patients. They are never just an appointment or a referral, they are a person needing help. I love calling a patient with an appointment to see a specialist and they are pleasantly surprised that I'm calling them "so fast" with an appointment. That relief in their voice and thanks from them means the world.
