Pharmacy caught my eye as a way to help patients and medical teams through one of the most difficult aspects of healthcare -medication management. Pharmacy is a rapidly changing field, from new medications to changes in patients' medical conditions. As an intern, I gleaned experience from my community technician position and my intern position in investigational drugs. I was exposed to insurance and the nuances of the system. In addition, I worked with the pharmacists at my store when they were performing medication therapy management services. Moving on from school, I was accepted into a PGY-1 position at Ochsner Medical Center. There, I had the opportunity to do two pediatric rotations, including one in the PICU/CVICU. I also spent more time working in critical care with rotations in the MICU and CCU. I am a detail-oriented, versatile pharmacist with experience in a wide variety of clinical areas. I love how the field is constantly changing with new medications and new guidelines. I enjoy engaging with patient-centered medical teams to improve patients' lives. Patient counseling is one of the most rewarding parts of my career! Everyday is different, and I couldn't love it more!
