Megan Morrow Email & Phone Number | I am a 2014 graduate of Penn State Behrend with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Currently, I am the Outreach & Prevention Facilitator at White Pine Center for Healing. My role is primarily to provide awareness and prevention programing around eating disorders and body image issues to children and adults throughout Erie County, as well as to connect with local community organizations and leaders to share information about White Pine's services and efforts. I work closely with the Executive Director to increase the public's awareness of White Pine's work throughout our region. Prior to working for White Pine, I was a Prevention Education Specialist with the Crime Victim Center of Erie County for nearly 6 years. During that time, I provided educational programing on a wide range of topics related to crime and victimization for a variety of audiences. All presentations were interactive, and I really enjoyed being able to engage with both youth and adult members of the community on topics like child sexual abuse prevention, human trafficking awareness, online & social media safety, emotions & coping, healthy boundaries & relationships and sexual harassment. I was part of a team, but with COVID and other staffing challenges, I had to absorb additional responsibilities and became the senior member of the team, often helping to train new hires. This experience taught me so much and ignited in me a passion for educating others. I hope to someday have an opportunity to be an adjunct professor. My ultimate career goal is to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I want to help people navigate through hardships and achieve sustainable happiness. Having empathy for others, especially those who are struggling, has always come naturally to me. I think this is because I know first-hand what it feels like to hurt deeply and desperately want to find a light through the darkness. I aspire to be the light for others that my younger self needed. I will begin working towards my master's degree in the near future.
