Md Mph Faes George Morris Faan Email & Phone Number | Dr Morris is a recent graduate of the Imperial College of London, School of Public Health. His interests are in various areas of public health. His interest started in medical service provision to the un- or under-insured for specialty care. Health Literacy came to his attention when it was a notable exception to it limiting patient's using provided service access. Dr Morris spent time in the planning process and policy group in the Life course Initiative for Healthy Families to address Infant Mortality which led to his work on father health literacy in infant mortality. He served as chair of the WMS Opioid Taskforce and as a spokesman for Milwaukee County and WMS to outreach to community programs. He developed an interest in obesity documentation and management for physicians. He worked on and submitted a PCORI grant for managing weight in African-American women which provided several publications on barriers to weight management for patients, advocates, and physicians. Trained as an epileptologist at The University of Cinncinnati, Dr Morris has created the Evaluation and Surgery Programs at The Medical College of Wisconsin, Aurora St Lukes Medical Center and Ascension St Mary's-Milwaukee Medical Center. He is a Professor of Neurology and active lecturer. He has been involved in over 800 surgeries for epilepsy in his career in Cincinnati, MCW, Aurora, and now St Mary's-Milwaukee, part of Ascension Healthcare. He is an adjunct with UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University, and UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Morris has been involved in the development of functional magnetic resonance imaging in the areas of epilepsy and detection of memory and speech. Several publications have arisen from this work as well as comparisons of intraoperative mapping to the results of functional MRI. Dr Morris chaired The Medical Society of Milwaukee County Health Literacy Collaborative. The Collaborative was created to convene interested members of the health literacy community with the mission to catalog current activities, explore future collaborations, and identify areas of need. Dr Morris was the Chair of The WMS's Council on Health Care Quality and Population Health.
